A Little Bit About Me

I've been obsessed with babies and pregnant mamas for as long as I can remember—seriously, probably since I was about two years old! As soon as someone shares their pregnancy, I feel an instant connection. This passion has taken many forms over my life: childcare, nannying, advocacy at a local pregnancy center, and simply befriending every new mama I meet. Growing up, I noticed a recurring theme among the women around me: anxiety about birth, especially unmedicated, physiological birth. However, my Mom, a trained nurse, taught me growing up that birth didn’t have to be that way.

In 2015, I learned about Birth Doulas and instantly fell in love with the concept. A Doula isn’t medical but serves as a coach, support, and educated best friend during birth. In 2019, I researched whether Doulas could reduce birth anxiety for my bachelor’s thesis—and the answer was a resounding YES! Birth Doulas not only reduce anxiety but also improve birth outcomes and reduce unnecessary interventions like cesarean sections.

In 2020, I trained as a Birth Doula, attended my first births within a month, and completed Postpartum Doula training. Since then, I’ve become certified through DONA International as both a Birth and Postpartum Doula and become certified as a Body Ready Method certified® pro, expanding my offerings to include physical preparation for birth and postpartum recovery.

Most recently, my husband and I welcomed our own sweet son via cesarean. The knowledge and experience I’ve gained as a Doula was invaluable as we prepared for birth, adjusted to necessary changes in our birth preferences, and navigated significant feeding challenges postpartum.

I feel so blessed to walk alongside incredible parents in one of the most transformative and challenging seasons of their lives. I love seeing parents relax when I arrive. I love witnessing the birth of a baby and knowing that the support I provide can make a real difference in reducing anxiety and trauma. I would be honored to walk alongside you in this precious season.
